Sell with Ride Drive Store
When it comes to selling your pride and joy, you want someone to take the time to understand about your machine, the work that has been done over the years and see it for what it is rather than what a little book may say. Here at Ride, Drive, Store we like to think we do just that and look at every car individually and after we’ve had the opportunity to inspect the vehicle, we will come back with our proposal. We have two options for our customers:
Option 1 - Outright Purchase
We are always looking for similar cars to add to our stock. If your car is an excellent example with a full service history or a lovely classic, we would be interested to hear from you. Please use the form below to send us your details of the car along with any relevant information. Alternatively please email us the details along with a few pictures.
Option 2 - Sale or Return
We also sell classic and performance cars on behalf of their owners. If you own a car that fits in with what we sell here (excellent examples with full history), we would be very interested in helping you to sell your car.
Consignment sales are increasingly the most popular way of selling classic and certain performance cars. We act as the sales agent, we charge a flat fee, payable once the car has been successfully sold.
How does it work ?
The whole process is designed to make it as simple as possible for you the owner.
Firstly, you send us the details of your car/motorcycle, using our contact form below. We will then provide you with an accurate retail valuation for your car. Upon initial agreement, we then require to see the car in person and perform a 1 hour overview inspection. If an MOT is required then this can be performed at this stage.
If you car requires work to achieve the minimum VOSA MOT standards, We can quote and arrange the work using our partnering workshop.
If you haven’t got the time to bring the car over to us, we can collect it on our fully insured transport at an agreed cost.
Whilst the car is with us, its securely stored in one of our units. All cars are fully insured.
The next stage is to get the car detailed and prepared for the pictures and videos. Once complete, a full final inspection on the car is made ready for viewings, photographed and submitted on all the agreed sales platforms.
Once advertised we handle all the viewings, questions (and where applicable a test drive) until we have the desired offer to present back and an agreed sale.
So why would customers buy a car from us rather than yourself ?
We know it is hard to find a cash buyer, who doesn’t need finance, who doesn’t have a part exchange and is prepared to buy a vehicle of high value from your home without a warranty. Unfortunately this market is extremely small, is extremely time consuming and can be difficult to deal with.
Then consider what would happen if there is a fault once you’ve sold your vehicle?

How much does it cost?
As all cars are different and require individual assessment / works to get them up to RDS sales standards, prices can vary.
Cars up to £10,000 our sales cost is £1000.00 + vat plus service costs
Cars up to £20,000 our sales cost is £1500.00 + vat plus service costs
Cars over £20,000 our sales cost is £2000.00 + vat plus service costs
Below is an example of what the typical costs for a vehicle in good order will be:
Car: Porsche 944 S2
Collection: Northampton to Kibworth: £84.00 + vat
Inspection cost: £85.00 + vat
M.O.T £54.00
Oil service: £173.50 + vat
Standard preparation: £200.00 + vat
Total pre sales costs: £705.00 inc vat
Commission costs: £1800.00 inc vat
Car Sold for: £19,995.00
Minus RDS work to vehicle & sales costs: £2505.00
Final return to customer: £17,490.00
Storage charges are applicable after 6 weeks at our premises at £25.00 + vat per week.
What happens if my vehicle doesn't sell?
You won't be responsible for our insurance and advertising, however any pre sales work undertaken will be charged before returning it.
In the highly unlikely event your vehicle doesn’t sell we will discuss the rare situation with you closer to the time.
We are passionate and motivated to sell your vehicle as quickly and as smoothly as possible at the highest price possible but the seller must realise that markets change frequently.
